Adam's 30th Surprise Birthday in Orlando

Brian's buddy Adam turned the Big 3-0 at the end of February, and his sweet wife Meg wanted to do something extra special for him. She had the wonderful idea of taking him to the Braves Spring Training in Orlando. But knowing Adam might have more fun sharing this experience with someone who shared his love for baseball, Brian and I got in on the plans. We were to surprise them in Orlando.

Our flight left Atlanta 30minutes before theirs did, which gave us plenty of time to get from our gate to theirs to pull off the big surprise. We had even made a sign. "Happy Delighted Birthday" is an inside joke between Adam and Brian.

But we did not have to worry about him seeing us in the crowd. The gate their flight was to arrive was deserted. I was actually scared we were in the wrong place. I have never seen an airport so dead.

Adam was not expecting to see us, even after he did see us. I wish I would have been able to get another picture when he was putting two and two together. It was priceless.

The boys spent two day at the fields at the Wide World of Sports. Meg and I joined them on Saturday, arriving early to watch the teams warm up. We were able to chat with a few of the players and the boys got a couple autographs as well.

Saturday night we had dinner at a precious restaurant I had read about on Julie's blog called Park Plaza Gardens.

Our atrium dining room provides the perfect setting for luncheons, special occasions, company functions, wedding receptions and romantic dinners, or enjoy our European style sidewalk cafe.

The Birthday Boy was given a special dessert while the piano player played him a special song.

After dinner we went to Orlando's CityWalk to a Dueling Piano Bar and a Dance Club. It was packed full, music blaring and Meg was feeling the beat. We hit the dance floor and had a blast.

Sunday while the boys were at the fields Meg and I enjoyed a lovely Brunch and an afternoon shopping at the outlets.

Adam had a blast and Brian felt like it was his birthday. Both boys were like kids in a candy store all weekend and we could not have had a better time.
