We Are Going To Luxemburg

As most of you know, Brian and I will be traveling to Luxemburg at some point to visit his sister and brother-in-law. We are beyond excited and cannot wait for the time to arrive. I hope you have been following Melanie's blog, Life in Little Luxemburg, as she documents and shares their adventures since April. While we are there the 4 of us will also be traveling to Paris which is only a couple hours car drive from Luxemburg, renting an apartment for 2 nights and soaking in as much Paris as possible. Sweet Melanie has been incredible, researching and planning for our time while we are there. I wanted to share with you all our tentative agenda.

Day 1
7:00am - Leave for Paris
11:00am - Arrive in Paris, find parking near 14 rue de Constance
12:00pm - Lunch at L'Ete en Pente Douce (23 rue Muller - down stairs and left from Sacre Couer) or Les Pates Vivantes (46 rue du Faubourg) "live pasta!"
1:30pm - Meet Jean Francios at apartment
2:30pm - Parts of Montemarte Walk / Sacre Coeur (p. 336)
**Tombees du Camion (17 rue Joseph de Maistre, 18th - Metro Blanche) "Fallen off the truck" open 11 till 8, by Montmarte Cemetary
Stay away from Blvd. de Clichy
4:00pm - Coffee / pastry on Rue de Martyrs (46 or 22) or Clarion des Chasseurs (3 pl du Tertre)
5:00pm - Bus #69 tour of town from Eiffel Tower to Place Gambetta / Pere Lachaise Cemetary (get off at Louvre for museum and restaurant le Grand Colbert)
6:00pm - The Louvre (discounted tickets after 6 on Friday - we can play this by ear)
FYI, the Louvre has the Mona Lisa and other pieces from da Vinci, Michaelangelo, etc.
8:00pm - Dinner @ Le Grande Colbert (from the movie "Something's Got to Give" recommended by the Porter's - 2 Rue Vivienne)
Or Cafe Constant (corner of rue Augereau and rue St. dominique)
10:30pm - Arrive at Eiffel Tower to see at night (last to the top at 11:00pm, 2nd tier- best view, 8 euros)

Day 2
9:00am - Arrive at Museum Orsay (opens at 9:30 or free from 5-6pm and less busy later in day, 8 euros, on the Seine in St. Germain)
Orsay has Impressionist paintings like Monet, Renoir, Manet, Degal, etc. (upper level)
10:00am - Notre Dame
11:00 am - Walk along Seine - Historic Paris walk p. 82
12:30pm - Lunch on Isle de la Cite at La Rose de France (24 Place Dauphine) or Chez Paul (15 Place Dauphine)
Coffee at Le Flore en I'lle (42 quai d'Orleans - Isle St. Louis) or Les Deux Magots
2:00pm - Gelado on Isle St. Louis (Amorino Gelati - 47 Rue St. Louis-en-l'Ile)
3:00pm - Latin Quarter @ Rue St. Severin (St. Michel and St. Germain - main blvds)
4:00pm - Left Bank and Marias neighborhood (good shops and Paris' oldest brasserie - Bofinger - 5-7 rue de la Bastille or Le Baron Rouge - 1 rue Theophile-Roussel)
7:30pm - Dinner @ Le Coup Chou (9 & 11, rue de Lanneau 75005 Paris, France)
10:00pm - Le Tres Particulier (23 ave Junot, Montmarte) +33 01 53 41 81 40 for reservations (private bar featured in "My Little Paris")

Day 3
8:30am - Arrive at the Eiffel Tower (opens at 9:00am, 2nd floor - best view, 8 euros)
10:00am - Trocadero Square (best view of Tower / photos)
11:00am - Rue Cler neighborhood
12:30pm - Lunch at Cafe du Marche (38 Rue Cler on corner) or /tribeca Italian next door
2:00pm - Arc de Triumph
3:00pm - Champs Elysee walk / Avenue Montaigne
4:30pm - Pastry and coffee along the way - Laduree - 75 Champs Elysee)
6:00pm - Depart Paris

**If time, shop at Sevres-Babylone to St. Sulpice (Behind St. Germain - away from Seine - before Luxembourg Gardens)
**Cafe Estrella - Real french toast and fab coffee (closed Sunday) 34 Rue St. Sulpice, 6th near Luxembourg Gardins
**Gerard Muot's Patisserie - Chocolate macroons (76 rue de Seine, 6th near St. Germain)
**Thank God I'm a VIP (12 rue de Lancry, 10th, Metro Jacques Bonsergent or Republique, open until 10pm) Fabulous designer vintage
****Le Comptoir Général (80 quai de Jemmapes, Paris 10th, Fridays to Sundays from 11am to 11pm)

Maggie has also suggested we stop by Fouquets for a glass of wine or champagne. This place looks awesome. I was looking at the menu and a dessert might need to be consumed as well.

I mean seriously! I feel like we have a travel agent. Seeing it like this gets me overwhelmed with excitement. Can we go today? ;-)
