Our Luxembourg/Paris Adventure- Part 2

I have put off doing this post because really, how do I describe the magical time we had and the amazing sights we saw in a blog post? To me, this trip was a dream come true. I have always fantasized about one day going to Paris, seeing the Eiffel Tower, walking the streets beside the Seine River, and this dream of mine came true. Call me cheesy, I don't care.

Melanie and Alex as well as Brian and I both own the Rich Steve's Book on Paris. As I posted a couple weeks ago, Melanie had been preparing for our trip and we stuck to the outline pretty well, changing a few things here and there to accommodate other interest once there.

After arriving in Paris, we grabbed a quick lunch before checking into our precious apartment, unloading our car and off we went.

First up was the Sacre Coeur and Montmartre. The Sacre Coeur sits at the highest point of Paris on the Montmartre region.

Then Dinner @ Le Grande Colbert where the scenes from Something's Got to Give was filmed

Followed by the Eiffel Tower @ night. Brian and I went up but Melanie and Alex stayed down as they had been up before.

After a delicious breakfast at a french bakery Saturday we went to The Notre Dame for the first time, we made another trip later in the trip.

Walking along the Seine River we could see some people resting, enjoying some bread and cheese, others laying out soaking up some sun on the "beach" areas, boat tours traveling up and down. Rick Steves talked about this fantastic Ice Cream Shop, Amorino, in his book so we made a quick detour.

Dinner that night was at a delicious place called Les Bonnes Soeurs. Everything we ordered was so delicous, even the 2 orders of cheesecake.

Followed by a night stroll passing the Bastille

Sunday started bright and early on our last day in Paris. We wanted to be first in line to go up to the top (all 400 steps) of the Notre Dame to replicate this picture that Melanie and Alex have hanging on the wall in their home.

Here are our best efforts- we are hoping to get someone skilled in Photoshop to edit out the guardrails.

The view was amazing! You could see the entire city. This picture of Brian makes me laugh. He was concentrating so.

My artistic attempt.

Eiffel Tower Time!!! I was so excited to get some pictures out in front in the lawn. And a little wire fence did not stop us in the slightest.

Rue Cler was next up for lunch and another sweet treat.

Arc de Triumph

Photo Bomb.. otherwise this would have been a cute picture of all 4 of us

After walking along Champs Elysee, dropping into a few stores, we decided to grab dinner to go and hit the road for our 4 hour drive back to Luxembourg. On the way home we talked about our favorite parts, the funny moments not to be shared on this blog that will remain memories forever, and reviewing our pictures over and over. It was a dream come true for me- a Trip of Lifetime!

We cannot Thank Melanie and Alex enough for all their hard work before we got there- it made the trip such a breeze. We knew where we were going and how to get there before even leaving the house. Not to mention, since they have been in Luxembourg they have been taking twice weekly French lessons and could converse very well with the locals. No joke, we could not have made it, or had such an enjoyable time, without them. SO THANK YOU MELANIE AND ALEX!!
