The next day was one of leisure, big surprise.
After breakfast we set out to walk around more and shop. I thought this Episcopal church beside the Inn was precious. And I loved hearing the bell chim every hour. There probably was not a store we did not go into. The highs for the weekend was about 32 degrees so we would walk into some stores just to warm ourselves. I found a grey coat and some black boots. Pretty excited about it.
Brian got scared of the giant life-size Santa in the Christmas Tree shop.Little secret, I already have my ornament for my secret santa ornament swap I do with my besties each year.
For lunch Brian and I tried out the Oak Street Cafe. It is located upstairs over some shops, overlooking Main Street.
The Inn was hosting a complimentary French themed Wine and Cheese tastings Saturday afternoon in the Hummingbird Lounge. The cheese spread.I loved how everything was labeled.
The selected wines were a Chateau de la Greffiere Chardonnay and a Saint Cosme, Cotes du Rhone Syrah.
We used our car for the first time since we had arrived and went to dinner at a place called Cyprus.
Serving International Cuisine, each dish is inspired from a different region from around the world. This place was a treasure tucked away in a small shopping center. The atmospehere was warm and tready with an open kitchen- love it!
For my meal I kind of ordered blind as I did not know what to expect and ordered the Ah Mawk, Fresh Fish in Banana Leaves Basted with Lemongrass Infused Coconut Milk (Laos)Brian got the Pescado Veracruzano Fresh Fish with Tomato, Onion, Garlic, Olives, Chiles (Mexico). His picture taking skills needs improving.
We had heard there would be live music played here but sadly the "off season" struck again. Our host at Cyprus recommened we go to The Ugly Dog for some night life. It was a simple tavern/bar where a Jazz band was playing. Apparently this is where all the locals hang out as we ran into several girls we had befriended the past 2 days at our hotel and at a shop I visited several times.
We called it a night, but not before stopping by the "Dove Bar." Yes, an entire mini-freezer full of Dove ice cream bars.
Your trip sounds like so much fun! I have to put this place on my "must see" list!
