Celebrating in Charleston

Saying that we LOVED our time in Charleston would be a vast understatement. Everything was so nice- the shopping, the site seeing, the restaurants, the beach- everything. Okay lets back up.

Brian and I headed out early Saturday morning after dropping Sophie off at the doggie hotel - The Wages' abode. Thanks again Mr and Mrs Wages! Once we arrived in Charleston we quickly checked into our hotel, and headed straight downtown to do some shopping on Market Street.
We strolled up and down the street popping into several stores, some just to cool out from the high heat. I ended up purchasing a cute dress from J Crew- thank you gift card ;-)
Sunday night we stopped by the Vendue Inn to visit their Roof Top bar for a pre-dinner drink and live music. The view was awesome- the wind, on the other hand, was less than thrilling for my hair.
We decide on Fleet Landing for dinner, as we heard it was right on the water with windows circling the whole restaurant, giving a great atmosphere.

Charleston is less than 15 minutes away from Folly Beach. And seeing how we got slighted from our last beach trip due to me getting sick in Hilton Head, we decided some beach time was a must.
It wasn't super crowded and the breeze was blowing so we were happy campers. This guy- not so much. The seagulls wanted his lunch.
One of the things I loved most about Folly Beach was how walkable it all is. For instance, Brian and I parked in one of the public parking lots. When we were ready for lunch we put our belonging back into our car, then walked down the street to find a lunch spot. There were a lot of cute places covering several blocks near the beach. On Sunday we ate at The Grill on the Edge and on Monday we went to The Lost Dog Cafe.

We had been given a lot of recommendation for dinner options - so much that it was a huge decision every night. Sunday we went to Magnolia's.
Amazing! I could have ordered anything off the menu and probably would have been very pleased. Brian said that this is probably the best meal he has ever had in his life. I think he enjoyed it.

After dinner we went across the street to The Gin Joint. They have a cute outside garden and a 10 page menu of drinks. Cheers to 2 Years!

On Monday we went to Hanks for dinner. Brian must have told them it was our anniversary when he made the reservations because all the servers kindly extended their congrats to us, which I enjoyed.

We had an awesome table that was right beside the window, allowing us to people watch throughout our evening. We meet a sweet couple who were seated beside us from Charlotte and chatted with them throughout our meal.

Tuesday morning before hitting the road, we had to try one more place we had heard rave reviews on, Hominy Cafe.
It was a precious little cafe, kind of reminding me a bit of Athens. It was sad to leave but the whole way home we shared pictures on this one and increasingly got more and more excited to see her. We have turned into crazy dog owners.
